Delete your Rosary Count account
Rosary Count is published by JMJ Consultancy Services. This page explains how to delete your account and exactly what happens to your information when you do.
In the app, in four taps
This is the quickest way, and it takes effect immediately — nobody has to approve it.
- Open Rosary Count and sign in.
- Tap Me in the bottom bar.
- Tap Settings & reminders, then Your account.
- Tap Delete account, then Yes, delete my account.
You are signed out of every device at once, and the account is gone. You can do the same at rosarycount.com in a browser, which is useful if you no longer have the app installed.
By email, if you cannot get in
If you have lost access to the email address you signed up with, write to support@rosarycount.com from any address and tell us the address you used. We will verify that the account is yours and delete it for you, within 30 days and usually within two working days.
What is deleted
All of it goes in one transaction, at the moment you confirm — not on a sweep that runs later.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your email address | Erased. It is the only identifier the app has for you, and afterwards nothing links the account to you. |
| Your display name | Erased. |
| Your profile photo | Deleted outright, along with any earlier copies of it. |
| Your group memberships | Removed, including any group-admin rights. |
| Sign-in links and codes | Deleted, so nothing keyed to your address survives. |
| Invitations sent to your address | Deleted. |
| Notification tokens for your devices | Deleted, on phones and in browsers. |
| Every sign-in session | Revoked immediately, on all devices. |
What is kept, and why
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| The decades your group prayed | Kept, without your name. A group's totals and its chain of days are the group's own history: if your decades vanished, every total your parish or family had already counted would change retroactively, and days they prayed would look unprayed. These records no longer carry your name, your email or anything else that identifies you — only that somebody, now anonymous, prayed them. |
| A group picture you uploaded as a leader | Kept if the group is still using it. It belongs to the group, and every member is still looking at it. Your own profile photo is always deleted. |
| An entry in our administrative log | Kept: the date of the deletion and an internal identifier, with no personal details. It is how we can show a deletion was carried out. |
Retention period
There is no waiting period and no grace period: the deletion happens when you confirm it, and it cannot be undone. Encrypted backups of the database are kept for 14 days for disaster recovery, so a deleted account may persist inside a backup for up to 14 days before those copies age out. Backups are only ever used to recover the whole service after a failure, never to restore an individual account.
If you sign up again later with the same email address, you get a new and empty account. Nothing from the old one comes back.
